Who Should Read This
Everyone who opens or holds a New Westminster Casino account falls under this page. It applies at registration, before the first deposit, at withdrawal, and whenever Canadian rules require a new check.
Clean money. Real players. That is the deal on our strip.
Why We Verify
You can sign up only where local law allows it. Our process follows Canadian anti-money laundering, age and identity verification rules. The checks establish your identity, confirm you're 19 or older, and confirm your location is permitted.
It also protects you. Verified accounts are far harder to hijack, and payouts reach the right person.
PEP and Sanctions Screening
Every account runs through PEP list screening. PEP means politically exposed person: someone in a prominent public role, along with family members and close associates. A hit won't bar you from the tables. It only triggers extra checks.
We also screen against Canadian and international sanctions lists. A confirmed sanctions match means we cannot offer an account at all.
Ongoing Monitoring
Verification keeps going after the first check. We watch account activity for odd patterns, like deposits followed by little play and then a withdrawal, sudden jumps in spending, or several accounts linked to a single person or payment method.
When something stands out, we may contact you by email for an explanation or further documents. Play or withdrawals can be paused while we look into it.
Record Keeping and Reporting
We keep identity records, verification results and transaction history as long as Canadian law requires. They're held in secure storage and handled as Your Privacy describes.
Where Canadian law requires us to report a suspicious or large transaction to the relevant authorities, we file it. The law bars us from telling any player if such a report has been made.
Source of Funds
For larger or unusual deposits, we'll ask where the money came from. Accepted proof includes:
- an employment letter or recent pay slips
- bank statements showing the funds arriving
- papers for a property sale, inheritance or investment payout
We only request what fits the situation, and we explain why when we ask.
Identity and Age Checks
We check identity, age and location ahead of any first deposit. Most checks run electronically behind the scenes. If they fail, we request documents by email.
Documents We Accept
- Photo identification: a valid, unexpired passport, provincial photo card or driver's licence
- Address: a recent utility bill or bank statement showing your full name and home address
- Payment method: for Mastercard, a photo of your card's face with the middle digits hidden; for Interac e-Transfer, Apple Pay or Online Banking / Trustly, a screenshot showing your name on the account
Shoot sharp, full-colour images with nothing cropped. You might also need to send a selfie holding your ID.
When Verification Fails
If we cannot verify you, or the documents do not match the account, the account is restricted. Deposits, play and withdrawals stop until the matter is resolved.
Where verification still cannot be completed, the account is closed. Where the law allows, any deposited balance goes back to the method it came from. Winnings from an account opened with false details are void. Full account rules are in our Terms of Use.
